Melissa Gedrose

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Melissa specializes in working with domestic violence issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and adjustment issues. Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Melissa works with clients ages 10 and up.

Megan Kampstra

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor specializing in working with children, adults, and families: she works with ages 6 and up. Megan uses various theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and play therapy. Megan applies current neurological research to treat a variety of disorders and problems including anxiety, depression, ADHD, attachment and bonding, relationship challenges, parenting issues, stress, self-esteem, personality disorders, and trauma. For clients who desire a faith-based approach, Megan also offers Christian counseling, integrating biblical principles with clinical expertise to support spiritual and emotional growth.

Andrea Okerstrom

Andrea is a board‑certified Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC) providing care for a wide range of mental health concerns to patients ages 4 and up. Her services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, personalized prescribing, ongoing treatment monitoring, and integrated wellness support. Andrea’s collaborative approach includes pharmacogenomic testing, when applicable, to help guide individualized medication choices.

She emphasizes that healing is not a linear process, and her practice is grounded in an integrated, whole‑person approach that supports patients through every stage of their mental health journey. Andrea provides in‑person psychiatric care in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, with telemedicine services available across all of Minnesota and North Dakota. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from North Dakota State University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of North Dakota. Her previous healthcare experience includes both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. She is nationally board‑certified as a PMHNP‑BC through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Jamie Rodriguez

Licensed Graduate Social Worker, Jamie specializes in working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, domestic violence, relationship challenges and adult attachment, parenting, issues faced by People of Color (BIPOC) and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Jamie utilizes various evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and narrative therapy in her practice to support clients in meeting their therapeutic goals. Jamie works with children 6 years and up, adolescents, individuals and couples.

Tanya Sundberg

Tanya is a Licensed Psychologist with over 18 years of experience working with adults across a wide range of clinical concerns. She specializes in depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma, including PTSD and the ongoing impact of past events on mood, relationships, self-esteem, and daily functioning. Tanya is trained in EMDR, an evidence-based therapy shown to be effective for trauma and PTSD, which she integrates when clinically appropriate. She also draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients better understand patterns, manage symptoms related to depression and anxiety, and build practical coping skills. Tanya’s approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in respect for your individual experiences and goals. She welcomes the opportunity to work with you in developing the skills and insight needed to create meaningful, lasting change.

Erin is a LGSW, specializing in working with adolescents, adults and families ages 10 and up.

Bobbi Jo Hamilton

Bobbi Jo offers somatic, body-centered therapy for women navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, and chronic stress or illness. She also works with teens in need of mental health support. Her approach blends mindfulness, parts work, inner-child healing, and nervous system regulation. Currently completing her yoga teacher training, Bobbi Jo integrates gentle movement and breath-work into sessions when supportive. Bobbi Jo is passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported. She draws from both professional training and lived experience, and believes that healing is always possible. Outside of her work, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her kids and grandkids, and finding quiet moments in nature with her partner. She offers in-person sessions in New York Mills and telehealth across Minnesota.

Maggie Levie

Maggie is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker providing individual therapy for school-age children, adolescents, and adults. She works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, adjustment concerns, life stress, adoption-related concerns, and challenges related to involvement with child protection or the criminal justice system. Maggie also has extensive experience working alongside Indigenous communities and providing culturally responsive care. Maggie’s approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and grounded in empathy, compassion, and authenticity. She incorporates evidence-based practices while recognizing the importance of culture, relationships, and each client’s individual experiences. Maggie strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and respected while working toward meaningful growth and healing.

 

Maggie provides services through River Walk Counseling’s Fergus Falls location and will also provide services in Breckenridge.

Clinical Intern

Amanda Madison

Amanda is a Master of Social Work graduate student at Minnesota State University Moorhead and earned her Bachelors of Social Work degree in 2019. Born and raised in Fergus Falls, she is deeply committed to giving back to her home community through compassionate and accessible mental health care. Amanda provides therapy for adolescents and adults ages 12 and up, believing that every individual deserves quality mental health support across the lifespan. She embraces a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective, honoring each client’s unique story and resilience. Following graduation, Amanda plans to pursue a career in outpatient individual therapy, supporting clients of all ages in reaching their goals and improving overall well-being. She chose River Walk Counseling for her practicum because of its strong reputation for serving the Fergus Falls community. This experience provides her with diverse training opportunities that will prepare her for clinical practice and equip her to meet the needs of clients with care and professionalism.
